Happy weekend! Hope it's a good one. It's going to be a flurry of pre-Christmas activity here, but looking forward to curling up to watch some holiday movies, too. How about you?

As the creative director of interiors company Bloomingville, Betina Stampe has direct access to the company's Christmas decor collection. For the cottage where she and her family retreat during the holiday season, she likes to mix the ornaments with rustic elements found in the country around her, using branches in pots and switching out houseplants for small Christmas trees. All these natural colours are balanced out with one bright one for contrast — this year she's chosen neon pink. Love her easygoing yet sophisticated style. More here on Bolig Magasinet.

Sophisticated shimmer for the holidays. Silver turtleneck by Ralph Lauren, photographed by Mario Testino for Harper's Bazaar, 1995.
Artist/designer Aylin Langreuter and her husband, designer Christophe de la Fontaine and their two children recently traded their 1930s modernist apartment in Milan to move to a very small, very old castle at the foot of the Bavarian Forest. Dating from 1336, it was in surprisingly good condition — and the price is what they would have paid for a three bedroom apartment in Munich. But what they both fell hard for was the fairy tale atmosphere of their new home, which is now a wonderful mix of old and new. More here at Architektur and Wohnen.
